Injured Player Lineup Replacement ?

I'm in playoff, and my 1B is injured. If I leave first base field empty in Lineups, what will HAL do? My goal is for HAL to put my best hitter off the bench as a 1B, and eat the defensive liability. But that player isn't a 1B.

OR will HAL automatically place a backup 1B man to the lineup?

That would mean my starting 3B would cover 1B (with terrible defense anyway), and my backup 3B would take over at third.

If you have a 1b option on your team, I'm pretty sure HAL will put that player at 1b if you leave it blank

That is correct

The only time HAL will put a non eligible player in at defense is if there is not a single player left that is eligible.
