Mystery League

I thought the point of a 'Mystery League' was to have the players TOP 5 years? Not, their top 4 years and 1 shitty/injury year. Put their BEST years on the card, we are actually paying real money to play

Sorry, but that is NOT the point.

The point of a mystery card league is with many players you don't know if they have a good card or not. It's up to you to figure out whether it's worth keeping them or not. If every player had their five best years, there would be little point in playing the mystery card game.

Now some players do have five good cards. That's what makes the game so interesting. Do you risk going for a player with three great years, one so-so, one bad or do you prefer someone you will want to keep no matter their year.

The big advantage of a mystery card games is your involvement with your team is just getting started on opening day. The disadvantage is there is more luck involved; however, a really good manager can usually--but not always--overcome the luck factor.

I enjoy the mystery card games, perhaps even more than the regular game. It's more like real baseball because you don't know what kind of year your players will have when the season starts. You have to monitor your team closely and make adjustments as the season progresses.

It really is an ingenious idea. I have been waiting two weeks for a 1970s mystery league to fill and so far there are TEN SPOTS still available (one of the few draw backs, but everything is a trade off), so I might break that team down and join a 1980s mystery league instead. Though I put a lot of work into my 1970s draft card... As someone said, I love the idea of being able to make real moves that matter AFTER the season starts.

Doubt any chance of it happening. But if strat provided 5 possible cards and allowed me to limit the possibilities to a given 3 then might be worth trying. Then if I am risk averse I could pick the 3 top cards and pay a higher price for the certainty of getting a good season. And if I were a gamble might toss in a bad season to lower the price in hopes of getting the bargain great card. As it is I would not care to pay a fortune hoping for example to get the 61 Maris and get stuck with his 67 card. Might as well play what-if sports if you want a mystery element to what you are getting.
