Hope we do get 4 more to give this a try. With everyone knowing up front that anything goes should be fun to see what people, especially vets, might be able to accomplish. I have a couple ideas for experiments that would not be possible in a regular league. Don't want to share them all because that might impact what trades others are willing to negotiate with me.

But will share one I am considering. Thinking about putting teams in opposite extreme parks and then swapping entire lineup after 40-60 games. That will still be a small sample size but will still be interesting to observe difference in BA or pitching stats for the same guys in opposite ballparks. How big will the difference be in Arky's numbers hitting park verses pitching park?

I agree, lots of room for experimentation. How should one draft? Both teams the same increasing your chances of getting your guys, or totally different draft cards? ONe heavy on hitters one heavy on pitchers? The possibilities are endless. I like the two extreme parks idea.

Both teams the same would be a waste. True, maybe you give yourself an extra coin flip if someone else selects your player in the same round. But you guarantee yourself missing half the time and getting half of your picks be last round consolations. On the other hand it would increase your odds of having the top 2 waiver picks. So you have high chance of first dibs on any high priced players who slip through.

Maybe not the same but similar can work.

I'm in one now and noticed how many managers went with RH/LH bomber parks.

I can see the logic of going with one LH park and one RH park. Then just trade all your consolation picks that did not fit to your other team. Should go a long way toward eliminating any bad draft excuses.

This league is a little slow getting off the ground. Fudu, if you could be so kind how about posting a message in your league pointing people to this thread. Assume all the managers there at least thought at one time this kind of thing could be fun.
While your at it why not toss your name in the hat. Be fun to have one of the best in this. :D

I imagine this experiment will be crazy, lopsided and insane.

In that order and again with that redundancy.

Its fun spelled backwards. Nuf said.

Sharing one point, my stadium choices are limited. I have played in 56 different stadiums with
my last 56 teams and I will not break this streak for this league.

Some actual strategy options.

Assumption" goals is to get most wins between 2 teams.

1. Super team and a AAAA team

bsolheim started out with this option.
I don't know, to get the most out of this will be more of an exercise in what the lesser team does.
I think incremental wins from the super team would be much harder than incremental wins from the AAAA team.
that would kind of suck the fun out of the strategy.

2. One lefty one righty team

Valen suggested this.
I like it. It would be hard for me to do this with my stadium constraints.

3. One hitting, one pitching team

This appeals to me in that I can approach the run differential side from two different angles.
Also, this would help to optimize the consolation players... bomber specialists for one team,
park independent players for the other park.
And it would work with my stadium constraints as neutral parks (with respect to L or R) would
work (I haven't used too many of these in my stadium streak).
Also this would help choose a better slice of pitching, as the hitting team would need the better
relievers and the pitching team could take the best starters.

4. Diagonals: either lefty with heavy bombing, righty with lighter bombing or vice versa

Kind of a combo platter 2 or 3, but the pitching strategy would change.

5. The penultimate lottery

You get 50 roster spots between two teams. Just put the top 50 players on the rosters.
This would never work in a 12 manager league, but given the strategy driven scenarios
and the limited number of managers, more great players will fall through the cracks.
First, some players will get rewarded well below where they should go.
Second, for back up plan, a lot of 2nd tier players are going to be there for waivers.

This would be a very gutsy strategy. High risk, high reward.

========================================

3 or 4 would seem to be my best options. I am drawing a blank for additional options, but I am sure
there are some other ones.
