Wish we could get an Unleashed Set like the 20xx Leagues, where Gates Brown and Delivery Boy's hoped-for Roger Freed card and others like it could be used or removed from the Player Set for a particular season.

ATG unleashed is a great idea. It would make those who think these one shot limited players should be banned happy and at the same time make those who fantasize about taking such a player and playing full time happy.

I have 2 cards that would instantly become the 2 most expensive cards in the set: Babe Ruth 1923 (MVP) and Mickey Mantle 1957 (MVP).

This brings to mind the debate we had on the boards back when adding an additional Mantle and Ruth was being discussed. The consensus then was 21 was Ruth's best year and 56 was Mantle's. Not sure the 57 card would become the most expensive. Slugging percentage 40 points lower than 56.

But good golly, a Ruth card with almost a .400 BA!!!! Not sure that is not fair. And it was his only MVP year according to baseball-reference.com. That site shows Ruth finishing 5th in 1931 and 6th in 1932. Does not list him placing in the MVP voting for any other year! Is it really true Ruth finished so far out of the MVP race in all other seasons he was not even in top 10? Impossible. But if true that shows that from the beginning the MVP vote was just as bogus as it is today.

Goes without saying I want both those cards in the ATG set.

In addition I think for every HOFer we should have the first full season, the season as close to their career stats as possible, their 3 best seasons.

From 1922-1928 what is loosely categorized as the AL MVP award had amongst its rules that once you won it, you were ineligible to receive it again so after Ruth won in 1923, he was ineligible. No award was given from 1915-1921 nor in 1929 nor 1930 in the AL. BBWAA started giving awards in 1931.

You'd have to see the card to know what I mean.

what, no more lee lacy cards being requested? a franchise focus to buff up some of the teams would be great. we are all baseball fans who love our home teams. would love to see the Blue Jays teams enhanced (also more Canadian players-votto, stairs, morneau, martin etc)

we really dont need any more peripheral players priced out at .50. i want less unusable players. i want the all-time greats, the players we have paid to see play. players from the last 15 years should be featured so that som can acquire the younger fanbase.

Agree with toronto50 that the Toronto, Seattle, Montreal need for a few more choices for those franchises.

Respectfully don't agree that more players from last 15 years are necessarily needed; if current cards draw new people, then they can go 20xx. ATG is more historical and, as such, doesn't need all the recent cards as much as it needs to address some missing players and missing season from the past.
