Howdy,
This evening my 80s team (long on speed, with only moderate power) won a game at Wrigley by the score of 3-2. OK, no big deal. But we were out hit 10-2 by our opponent! We scored one run when Vince Coleman scored from first on a two out double by Jose' Canseco; ok, so speed explains that one. Our other run came in typical small-ball style when Harold Reynolds led off with a walk, followed by an error on a GB by Rickey Henderson, then a sac bunt put Reynolds on 3rd. Next batter hit a sac fly= one run.
I can't recall winning a game this way when being outhit 10-2. The other two games had my SPs getting bombed, so let's hope I'm not in for a long season! Anyone else want to share a strange win?
