John: Thanks for your kind words and your generous offer, but what's done is done. If this is the worst thing to happen to me in life, I'm a lucky guy. There are far more serious issues to worry about, although it's frustrating when someone steals something from you that you do for entertainment.

As we had discussed in our league mail, I was really looking forward to doing battle with you and the other fine managers in the league in this fun theme, but such was not to be, as there are apparently a couple of managers who need to be schooled in Strato online etiquette, being that you don't take someone's spot when there is a league sign up list.

How about posting a link to the league so I can follow it?

Thanks for your help.

I signed up for this league when it had languished and was on life support, when the founder of the league, drfreeze49, lamented that only 5 had signed up despite more than 150 page views and said that it was "his last try at recruiting". At least 4 people who signed up for the league after me joined as a direct result of my recruiting efforts of sending messages in my existing leagues touting the league and encouraging people to join. I even posted a link to to a previous such league to give prospective managers an idea of how to put together a team in this theme, stating that "this is one of my favorite themes". Does that sound like someone who would walk away from a league without comment after signing up for it?

Vinny, I know that you have been watching this league thread by your frequent updates. While I know that you were eager to get the league off the ground, I'm disappointed that you didn't respond to nomadbrad's self serving post questioning whether all on the list would join by stating that the league signup sheet was filled and that those who suddenly wanted to join the league when it looked like it was ready to fill could be alternates in the event someone changed his mind. At least that would have discouraged those not on the sign up list from entering.

Hi Bernie,

I am sorry you did not get to join the league. I did respond to Nomads request but through league mail in another league we are in and stated I was sure you would join...This is one of the reasons although I like te theme leagues there always seems to be an issue....I will gladly have Strat replace my team and you can have mine although my club is not all that great...in addition when I went looked at the league we still needed two (You and Terry101)...Terry stated he would be in the league in an hour well when I checked a little later the league was full...

Vinny: Thank you for your gracious response and for responding privately and setting the record straight.

I know that you have no control over what other gamers may do.

Although this is one of my favorite themes, I know that it is one of your favorite themes as well, since this is at least the second time you started this type of theme league. I was looking forward to the competition, as the list contained a great group of experienced and knowledgeable managers.

I really appreciate your generous offer to let me take your team, but that would be penalizing the wrong person. You did nothing wrong. Besides, as stated in one of my earlier posts, I'm trying to cut back.

Whenever I create a theme league, I always PM the password to league members instead of posting it publicly to reduce the risk of this type of problem. It's sad to have to do it that way, but apparently some people think that entering leagues is a competitive sport and they enjoy acing people out of their spot.

Please accept my best wishes for a fun league.

So I'm the schmuck who joined the league last night and bumped BDWard!

My most sincere apologies BD!

In all honesty, I didn't even know this thread existed.

I joined as a result of an invite I received from another manager.

I had a decent draft BD... the team looks to be competitive... maybe we can get Strat support to switch ownership of the team over to you before waivers:

I am really sorry man!

I can also vouch for BD. the only reason I was aware of this league is because of his mail in other leagues.

I'm willing for any solution including if strat lets us redraft...if that's even possible or on the table.

Like BD, I don't check the boards often anymore, and certainly not daily. I did see the post asking everyone to join by the "deadline" and found it odd, as I was unaware that there even WAS a deadline. As far as I'm concerned there is no deadline other than the Friday night deadline unless previously stated. And even the Friday night deadline is occasionally missed and everyone seems to survive just fine waiting another week.

Just a strange situation all around. :?

Some of my friends in the league have kept me abreast of what's going on within the league. THERE IS NO NEED TO DISBAND THE LEAGUE. That would be penalizing all managers, which isn't right.

Coffee, I'm impressed that you came forward. Your comments indicate that you are not at fault. You seem to have been misled by another manager who should have referred you to this thread and should have told you that there was a sign up sheet. That's what I did when I advised other managers about this league. Shame on that other manager for failing to do likewise. I know that you would not have entered the league if you knew that there was a filled sign up sheet. Thank you also for your gracious offer to give me your team. That won't be necessary. Much of the fun and challenge is in drafting a team. Enjoy the team you drafted

MSer, thank you for the kind words and support.

Hopefully, this situation won't be repeated in the future and all managers will respect the sign up lists.

Enjoy the league!
