Great season everyone!
Congratulations to The Turtle on his championship!
Wanted to throw this out there and get some feedback from all of you concerning the Spring FA draft(s):
In "real life", teams that trade away draft picks don't get to pick more players at the end of the draft to supplement their rosters (at least that's my understanding, hence the feedback).
As it stands in this and other keepers I'm in, the constitution's all state that there is a 10 round (but no more than 15 round for those that cut more than 10) FA draft (if using a 40 man roster keep in mind).
It makes sense obviously that if an owner has made trades acquiring picks and they hit their 40 player maximum prior to the 10th round that their draft is completed once the maximum has been met.
Why should someone like myself (who traded picks for players in hopes of a championship run) get to pick 2, 3 or even 4 players in a row at the end of the draft to get to 40 even though I only had 5 or 6 draft picks in those 10 rounds?
I saw an owner (in a different league) pick up some promising young players at the end of a draft back to back to back since all the other owners were at their 40 after 10 rounds. So not only did he win a Championship by picking up players with next year's FA draft picks, but landed some nice talent at the end of the draft that in "real life" he never would've been able to select.
I'm good with however we all want to play it out, but I think it would add some more realism to the keepers. Just my two cents and look forward to any and all feedback from all of you.
I will also send this to everyone's emails in case some of us don't check the boards as much!
