Catchers Errors -What am I missing?

I realize Lombardi's T rating is a little high (11)...but how in the world does he have this many errors through only 114 games?

One reason is your opponents are attempting a lot of steals. Check the team fielding stats to see how your team compares.

I always thought passed balls inflated the catchers errors?

I believe some errors are dropped foul pop-ups.

In the link you posted there are 29 errors, of those 19 were throwing errors (fielding tab shows 150 steal attempts, 113 successful with the 19 errors). There were another 10 errors (bad luck perhaps for a lot of x rolls with 2e7 card) PLUS 8 passed balls. and also some range misses.


....in other words, that T rating gets a lot of play if the arm strength and opponent makeup involves a bunch of steals.

Thanks for the clarification guys....I guess the high amount of steal attempts are the main contributing factor although it still seems extremely high. I've played with and against other catchers with higher T ratings (some even in the same league) who are nowhere near that amount of errors.

Oh yea, give either of the Roger Bresnahans a try, I use him, but try to always have pitchers with minus hold ratings.

lot of leagues have power parks and little base stealing. changes the whole dynamic.
