daniel stop drinking the koolaid. first most of obamacare's premiums are subsidized by other peoples taxes. 30 million illegal's will automatically be covered whether working or not. 49 million food stamp recipients will be covered. so whose paying their premiums? why do you favor special groups being exempt? also what about no denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions? I guess covering all those people will bring down premiums. besides, that's not insurance. try buying homeowners insurance after your house has burnt down. obamacare isn't about healthcare. its the largest tax increase in American history. why does a health care bill provide funding for the hiring of 16,000 new IRS agents and not one DOCTOR! everything promised so far has been a lie. huge premium increases, more out of pocket liability, fewer choices, and you can't sign up if you wish to. the government run obamacare website is a disaster. the American people don't want this.

There used to be a Forum called the Bullpen where those who desired could argue about anything ad nauseum: politics, music, religion, politics, philosophy, politics, etc.
I didn't care for it then, and, as respectfully as I can say it, I don't care for it here.

I come down definitively on one side of this argument, but I'll just let you guess which side. Let's get back to discussing why the Bullpen doesn't work to someone's satisfaction, or discussing why Roger Freed or Bo Belinsky need a card or DONT need a card. 8-)

Actually I think our discussions of both sorts of topics somehow result in the same outcome.

Now that is a lie.
If the American people didn't want this, Obama would have lost the election last year.
If the American people didn't want this, over 50% of the people wouldn't have voted for Democratic representation. Don't forget, the only reason Boner is the speaker is because of playing with district lines in 2011.

I think the Republicans are afraid it will work. Why else put up such a big stink?
If it's the disaster that they want it to be, they will win every election for the next 30 years.
So let it run it's course and see what happens.
And don't give me the argument about the cost. We waste billions on wars and war technology (Remember Star Wars or Space Wars? or whatever Reagan called it) LOL

If you want to talk about Obama further ruining our country, complain about the Pacific Rim Free Trade Deal that he has been working on. That could prove to be more destructive than NAFTA.

Andy I couldn't agree more! Chuck 1234 started this thread with a humorous post and I posted what I thought was a humorous post about an affordable Stat-O-Matic Act for us slacker managers who need someone else to pay for our Strat and it has ballooned into this. WELL ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!! I agree with Andy give us a Roger Freed 1977 card where he hit .400 or close to it as a pinch hitter and role player. No more Obamacare. If you want Obamacare and baseball move to Cuba! 8-)

Yeah, I started this post as nothing more than creating a humorous side to the government shutdown an tied it to SOM! (It's harder than it looks...) I got some funny responses too. That was the idea. I don't take SOM too seriously unless I go another 5 years and not win the montly lotto of getting a free team. (The Ranchers could use one). The ICONS will be back again talking about baseball, game features, programming glitches, new ideas, and getting Roger Freed a card.

When we were tranistioning from the Sporting News, there was an idea to improve SOM by simply adding new icons to mystify and dazzle the customers. That should have ticked anyone off. Therefore, (no government shutdown pun intended) I created the ICONS, a constant reminder that we as paying customers deserve better than window dressing.

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...

How about we discuss the Strat Scavenger hunt? How did that work out?

Or... wait for it... the LIVE DRAFT?   I'm fairly certain that, though I'm a chiropractor WITHOUT ANY programming experience, I could have banged out a live draft in about a month...

Ted Cruz was on the Sunday AM talk shows, railing against the Live Draft, because it's a Socialist program designed to redistribute the wealth of ATG hitters across all 12/24 owners. :D
