2 proxies loaded. If I don't get my picks I'll look some more. Back home. Will check often.

I will make my pick as soon as my window opens up (~10 minutes) but we may not get past my second pick.

Aw crud,

doesn't look like it will let you skip two people.

It won't let me pick, just proxy.

DJ picked. I'll pick and then we'll stop on Big A again. Since we're < 3 hours from the clock stop, we'll be dead in the water until he shows up to pick again. :(

Joe,

I'm curious about your 12th round selection of "Fernando Rodney". In my leagues with you, you've avoided the >$6M R1 pitchers in the $80M format.

You working on a new wrinkle? ;)

Dear NLD Owners:

As one of the three owners living outside of the US, I've a proposal to improve the drafting efficiency. Given our timezone differences, we're compelled to draft using proxies. While I've run out of proxies every blue moon, I'm generally able to keep the draft fluid. Where I do run out of proxies it's when I assume others "aren't" using them too. I'm counting on one or two owners per round to not use proxies which slows the process by a half turn. In this draft, we've avoided the long proxy runs so my theory holds. ;)

What tosses sand in the gears is when an owner misses his turn and then the draft clock closes for the night. From my dugout, this clock on/off process is a luxury that we can live without.

To kick this draft in gear, we use a running clock and move the time window from 3 to 8 hours.

I do not think is is good to change the draft clock mid-way through the draft without 100% acceptance.

I would not be adverse to a draft clock like that for the next draft ... although I think 6h would be a better draft clock. However I do not think the draft site allows for a 24 hour clock - maybe bigmahon could confirm either way.

In the end, unless we get 100% approval, I do not forsee a draft clock change, and I personally am in no rush. The draft gets done when it gets done (although I will do my part to keep it moving).

I'm fine with a next draft clock change. I like slow drafts. It helps me marvel at Joe's ever-changing draft strategy :D

Well, I had him in the $100 mil league and liked what I got. I currently have him in an $80 AD league and again he's doing well, in fact I've paired him with Lopez there also. We'll see if that is luck or a good combo with the better competition the NLD provides. The last few years my pens have been pretty bad so, yeah, I'm trying something different. ( I guess Tazawa/Kontos were decent in the first 80 this year)

As for changing the clock, I agree with AT, now is not the time.

In any case, I think it would actually slow things down as we would have longer delays during US time. I think we *could* say, however, if the last pick is made before 10pm EDT, you still only have 3 hours to get your pick in or someone could pick. That would give us more time in the evening. However, that's easy for me to say, living in CA.

Look guys, if you're not going to use proxies, then you need to be available during the day (EDT) and check in at least every hour or two (at most). It's that simple. If you're going to have a difficult period then you need to communicate beforehand. If you miss, you should apologize when you check back in. I think this is common courtesy.

It appears that we ran through all of Big A's proxies as his last three picks were by proxy.

It helps me marvel at Joe's ever-changing draft strategy

Glad I'm keeping you entertained Semper! :)

Speaking of Rodney, what happened on this turn was exactly why I didn't put a proxy in last night. I knew I wanted either KImbrel or Rodney so, if one went, I wanted to take the other. Didn't happen last time, but it did today!
