It's a different approach for you. With $10M in two SP* and three more required, I didn't expect you'd draft Rodney or Kimbrel at the $80M level especially when others need SPs.

How many innings are you expecting from Rodney this season?

Ironically, a solid number of posts relate to no proxies and slow drafting speed issues. I'm happy to toss out solutions since the complaints are pretty well covered.

Besides I expect the draft to go even slloooooowwwwwwweeeeerrrrr now as several owners may need an increase in their spending limits. :D

Semper,

Love that you have some suggestions, I'm just not sure that's the best one. How did you like my suggestion? The thing is, unless you're willing to skip someone 3-4 times then you can't get that far no matter what.

As for Rodney: He's on pace for 118 in my other league so, somewhere in there I guess. Maybe more as that team is getting 70% of the IP from the SPs right now. That might be higher than I'll get out of them in the NLD so he'll pitch more.

Nope, unlike our government, SOM won't let you deficit spend!

I don't get that. If that's the case, you just proxy them both and then use the 'delete if picked' option. No?

The problem with this discussion is that the people causing the hold ups aren't reading it. Those guys don't seem to check in here and generally don't post. So the constant 'c'mon guys' appeals aren't reaching the intended audience.

I wouldn't support any clock idea that disadvantaged managers in Europe or Asia. Proxies have a place, but can be a competitive disadvantage as well. Just ask Joe. 8-)

So far the Shanghai Kid is keeping pace with the draft tempo. What has become my challenge is when the round dies 1 or 2 picks after mine. In those instances, I'm loading some 15 names to survive a corner turning round.

I can't believe Big A didn't pick during the overnight.

Big M is right. All these ideas aren't reaching the target audience. I just cannot fathom how you sign up for a live draft and don't either: check in every few hours, or leave a proxy. It's just common courtesy to all of us who are committed.

If you can't check in a few times a day and/or don't have time to set proxies, then DO NOT sign up for the freakin' draft. Am I off base here?

Sidenote: and I think we're all talking about "repeat offenders" and not someone who might miss one or two T.L. or have something in real life come up.

Well said Jeep.

FYI, I am lecturing for the next few hours, and can't access the site. I'll check in when I'm finished.

Actually the solution is rather simple. The repeat offenders aren't asked back for the next go around. There's just too many nice guys in this league so that's never happened.

Instead you probably have had and will have solid drafters leaving because its becoming more frustrating drafting than it is fun to play.

Normally I "punt" a category until late in the draft, or the autodraft or even until the waivers period but I couldnt resist how neatly the players I picked fell into my designated lineup. So I'll have to scrounge now for $$ but we'll see ...

Anyways added a few more proxies ... not that we are moving much at the moment. :(

I havent been much of a poster over the last couple of NLD's because this year I have been really busy and also have moved to the graveyard shift so no access between basically 11pm edt to 9 or 10 am edt and usually am sleeping from 4 p to 10p so I usually check in when I get home, look at where we are draft wise and usually turn my proxies off when I am just lounging around the house.

Now on my off days(usually Tuesday and Thursday) I like to set up my draft according to who is still available and who fits my team needs and usually keep a good 20 proxies and just add and subtract according to who I like and just re-number my proxies when I need to turn them back on when I know I will be offline so I can keep my draft needs flowing. It takes a little time initially but when all is said and done it has been a lot easier than the last draft
