I'm gone for the rest of the day. P.m.'d my proxy for Round 3 (3b) to Visick. Since subject of Round 4 hasn't been detremined, I won't be able to make my second pick there until after 5 p.m. PDT.

It will be interesting to see how much people have budgeted for these 12 players, and how the pitcher selections go. The only pitching category that will require a starter be selected is the Wins category. If the average "category" player is 8 million, that will leave only 24 million to fill the other 13 positions for the draft.

I may be mistaken, but thought that we had to pick 3 SP* in the draft and only 1 reliever. Is that not true?

It is a game changer if we can pick only 1 SP* and 3 RP or any number of SP/RP

Please clarify.

Also, regarding the weasly Brett pick, I may be open to trade offers later....and at least will need to shift aRod to short.

From the rules...

All SP's must be *SP's

WINS (26+), ERA (1.80 or <), WHIP (1.00 or <), SAVES (30+)

Hackra and all,

Visick did make an explanatory post later in the league thread:

"We'll draft all player positions PLUS 3 SP's and a RP.
The only caveat is these players have to be within the categorical #'s."

You are correct.

I am sorry if I misled anybody with my previous post. Visick's intention is clear. All of the draftees are supposed to be starters, whether they are hitters, 3/4 or your rotation or the designated closer.

For perfect clarity, we must draft exactly 3 SP* and 1 RP.

The categories are: saves (30+) - This must be the only round for RP as there are no SP* with 30 saves
26+ wins (Must be a SP*)
ERA 1.8 or less (Must be a SP*)
WHIP 1.0 or less (Must be a SP*)

I'm out for the balance of the night - since I don't know what round 4 might be, can't send a proxy. Will be on early morning Saturday.
