Well Barnstormers started out with 12 leagues, that's 144 players - the final event had 10 leagues and that's 120 - so I think the number of regular players is quite a bit higher than 50.

It seems to me just one thing would have a lasting impact on better participation here ... live drafts.

It wasn't so long ago on the previous TSN site that the most popular thing to do on a Friday night was organize a live draft league, and most of the time the league would fill in less than 6 hours. You give people what they want, and they're eager to sign up. I don't know about other people, but I liked picking my own players, skipping waivers and wasting no time getting a team ready for opening night on Monday.

Has anyone been contacted or participated in a beta-test of the live draft we've been promised? I'd like to know if live drafts are just around the corner, or weeks - or even months away.

51.

Due to a misclick. Clicking on "change your mind" returned a java script run-time error. Oh well, what the hell.

I thought Billy Hamilton was the young speedster in the Reds organization. And I missed out on Nellie, but I guess that's not so bad, cuz she's a girl, right? Her and Babe.

I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't think we're gonna a see Live Drafts/ Player Additions/ Manager ratings.

Instead, we'll get distractions. ie. price reductions / scavenger hunts.

Of the 3 items I mentioned above, the player additions, I think, would have been the easiest to implement. How long has it been since the TSN - Strat switch?

I appreciate the current sale, but feel insulted with a Scavenger Hunt.

Think the main point goes back to what was brought up at least since the transition, and really a lot before that-
and is in large part to blame IMHO for the loss of older players, less new players and enthusiasm.

DIALOGUE

DIA- meaning 2-way
LOGUE- meaning communication.

Announcements are fine, but they represent a Monologue.

ONE thing I think some fail to understand is that when you move from a board or computer game to an online environment, the expectations of the users are very different- and one can not simply continue to do business as has been done in the past.

Making an announcement and not having a follow-up question and answer is IMHO again, an enormous oversight.

Salty, as usual, makes a good point. Blogs by John Garcia generally provide some news or updates and, in many cases, are helpful. And John often responds to follow-up questions on a one-to-one basis. But they are not community dialogues. I can understand the reasoning that such dialogues can quickly degenerate into rants that not only are unproductive but also personally insulting, and thus should be avoided or silenced. But communication is essential in any business endeavor and should be encouraged. If nothing else, public discussions between management and customers on this forum might at least bring an end to the dreary nothingness that it has now become.
