canauscot great job keeping the draft moving this week and thanks for the owner stats. Looking forward to the next decade and glad to see we still have all the original owners. Good luck to all.

While we are waiting for AdamKatz to make his picks, how about the question of the Cy Young award for the 70's. That is much harder than the MVP.

Matlack (3.03 ERA) has the best numbers but he only played in 2 of his 4 eligible seasons. Vida Blue (3.27 ERA) had the next best numbers but his numbers would have been worse if he had stayed around for season #3. After that, there is Seaver, Gaylord Perry (the most wins), Koosman (the best ERA at 3.44 among pitchers who were in all 4 seasons full-time), and maybe a few more. Even looking at the guys who were only eligible for three years, nobody jumps out as great in all 3 years. If I had to pick someone, I would go with Blue.

That those are the options tells me their were some disappointing decades out of the likes of Palmer, Niekro, Carlton, Sutton, Hunter...although I think they all had their moments. Tiant was a solid inexpensive option, averaging 17-14 with a sub 4 ERA.

I stuck with Gaylord through his 14-24 season, he was super otherwise...

I pretty much want to forget the 70s. It was a miserable 4 seasons. But Gossage deserves some consideration for best pitcher. He only played 3 seasons but had an ERA of 3.03 in 549 innings. He was only 33-28 with 54 saves but I think he was the ERA leader for the 70s and he played on 3 embarrassing teams

Guys, sorry for being absent for large parts of the last days. Had to take care of some issues, but now I am back and think I caught up. Sorry again!

We've all done well to get through six rounds. I'm sure soon as AdamKatz gets over having Cedeno injured twice in the finals (I think he missed more games in the finals then he did all year), he'll finish this thing off and then we can all dive in. I know I've got my team filled out already and ready to start the league, just pending that Adam doesn't choose one of my guys. I suggest you do likewise, so we can load real quick, get our randomization and away we go next week.

I'm ready and waiting. Hoping this Brett kid breaks out in th 80s.

While we're waiting, yay or nay on the obstruction call last night. I'm a Cards fan, so I'm biased.

Also, I think HAL may be a better tactical manager than Farrell (and Matheny).

sorry for delay.

Picking Pascual Perez.
For 6th round, do I need to use a pick for a stadium?
