Wots we gotz in Dee Sea?
1. A powerhouse men's basketball team named after a small fleshy green plant (Hoya).
2. A pro football team named after a specific kind of scalping trophy that was visual evidence of an American Indian's death and demanded by other White traders & trappers when they and the folks native to our lands were often killing each other right and left and up and down as in all over the place to the near extinction of the Red people in North America.
3. A men's pro basketball team that evinced positive social change (by an owner who had the financial clout that kept all public transportation far away from his arena in Maryland) who changed the name of his team from Bullets to Wizards during a time of a really nasty murder rate here.
4. A men's soccer team which had to give up the Vince Lombardi of soccer coaches to the US Olympic team, and is now known as DC Untied.
5. Some of the most outstanding museums in the nation, but that's probably "too much big guvmint" to you teabagging crakkadoodles out there in the Cruzin for Bruisin mob.
6. A Washington Monument completely "condomized" by scaffolding ... even to the pyramid tip ... due to earthquake damage from a quake centered directly under a ... uhhh ... uhhh ... nuclear power station.
7. A nuclear power plant nearby sited on a known fault line ... and upwind when our air comes from the southeast.
8. An electric power utility that gets less than 2% of its electricity from wind & solar sources.
9. Waiting on David Letterman for this one.
10. Waiting on Jon Stewart for this one.

So THERE Coach! Top THAT! Now, why can't The Harry One make a Pick?

Denny: Musial is one of my protected players. Please drop Musial, get the drop approved and pick again. Although I am eager to keep the draft moving, I will refrain from picking until you make your next pick. - Bernie

Boys, please check the keeper lists

Boys, please check the keeper list. We have had three or more poachers out there and this is a cause for some slow downs. Not all the slowdowns but some. We have to contact the poacher which takes time, and the poachee doesnt pick until his poached player returns. So stop poaching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poachers.

Thank you for the kind words, Harry. I'm grateful that I was accepted back in this league, which is all good guys and good managers After a very busy Spring and Summer, my schedule has lightened up somewhat. I never quit playing Strat, but have been in the process of reducing my number of teams. I have only one active team now and by the time this league starts, it will have less than two weeks left in the season.

I'm looking forward to matching wits again with you and all of the other managers in Armchair 51. - Bernie

It is an accident when some one drafts a protected player. It happens.

I don't think that there's ever any doubt that the player will be returned. In my case, I waited to make my draft pick to give a chance for the manager to repick, as he rightfully was entitled to pick ahead of me, despite the mistake.

Even though this league is highly competitive, one of the things I like about this league is that everyone is a gentleman and I have no doubt that every manager would have done exactly as I did. Fair is fair and right is right. No one needs to seek an advantage by trying to get a pick in ahead of someone who must repick because of drafting an ineligible player.

As I expected, though, while I waited to make my pick, the player I wanted was chosen by the manager who made the repick, proving once again that no good deed goes unpunished! - Bernie

Bernie:

Even though you had to "regroup" after the re-pick, it was a class act on your part to wait for it. I really do appreciate your generosity and good spirit, in this regard. I always look forward to being in leagues with you and competing with you because of your good attitude and the fact that you are one of the better managers in online Strat. I'm glad you are back in the Armchair General Managers League!

Bernie,

I always try to be extra careful to not draft keepers and just blew it this time. I looked for Musial in the outfielders and not in the list of 1b. My bad!

Thank you for your attitude and for waiting. It figures I ended up taking your guy. Maybe we can work out a trade?

I agree with Mark. This was a class act and demonstrates the quality of managers we have in this league.
