With regard to my pitching, I don't think I get much of an edge with more LH SP in Safeco, at least not enough to tilt things toward lefty starters. I've been fooling around with the "Strikeout Pitcher" concept in some of my leagues , so in this one I went with who I went with.
My problem, aside from the 0-20 start, is that my hitting has been totally anemic to this point. Only Butler has been showing up early for batting practice, the rest are phoning it in. If I can get some rolls from HAL down the road, hopefully I can chase you down (and keep Jerry at bay).
Funny, I gave up on this thread, but glad to see that you checked in!
I think you exaggerate a bit with 0-20, but yeah, you didnt' get off to a good start. Sure, maybe Safeco isn't *that* much in favor of LHP, but still surprising to see a non-rogers team with NO LHSP.
Interesting to note right now there are only three teams with positive Run Difs. Not sure I've ever seen that before!
Well, not a lot of luck in the first two games. Lose the first one when he gets hits off of my 2bx and SSx who are both 2's. Second game we leave 12 runners on.
Not a lot of luck again, he's killing on the X chart. When he gets a hit there, it ends up a big inning. Not like our fielding is *that* bad. It's pretty average.
We're lucky to be alive as we won game 4 1-0.
Hard to believe we haven't scored and he's just pounded us, but there it is so far. Hopefully he got all the rolls he's going to get and they'll turn our way now. Lord knows we need it. Without some luck we have no chance at this point.
So much for the dice going our way. He gets a 1-11, 1-11 and then a 1-5 bphr for the win. We went 1-5 on our bphrs and the only one we got turned into a single becuase Hal let Cowgill hit against a RHP in the 9th inning.
Sorry, but we shouldn't lose this way to a team that has only 4 offensive players. the bottom 5 of his lineup suck. Kendrick batting 5th? REally? That's a sad, sad, lineup. And they just POUNDED us. There's no way that team should score 27 runs in six games. Pathetic. It's a dice game that's all I can say.
Kendrick hits .304, Aybay > 400 (against almost all RHP) D Brown 267. Meanwhile Trout, Wright and Fielder are all 227 or less.
Oh well, the playoffs are always a crap shoot. We got the crap this time around.
