GB thanks the the analysis, I will try to get some time over the next few days to make some general observations too.

Speaking of analysis, something is fishy with "rolls" again. So, I managed to win two tonight (despite Lohse getting creamed again), but the rolls on the hitter's cards jumped from 96-176!! I wish I would have taken a screen shot of the pitcher-by-pitcher numbers because then I would know for sure if they changed something, but my hunch is that Bernie found a problem in the code. Either that or DJ *averaged* nearly 27 rolls on his card per game and only 12/game on mine and still lost two of them!

No reply to my post on the "Wish List" forum, but..... Something is fishy if you ask me! I come up with 45 rolls on the pitcher's cards. Combining that with my count from last night, you get 161 which is very close to the 154 they posted. The plot thickens!

I approve that message

For my Christmas wish, I wanted Justin Morneau on the squad. I had a proxy set for him but Joe grabbed him. When I saw Joe's park selection, I figured Justin's BPHRs would be too expensive when you combine him with Prince Fielder. Otherwise, I toyed with Chipper Jones as my DH.

My card

C: Joe Mauer - too much spent on a position that's platoon friendly.
1B: Joey Voto - I liked Votto's card. The injury issue covered with Casey Kotchman. It seemed sane enough
2B: Utley - I liked his card too. I grabbed John McDoland for insurance
SS: Erick Aybar - Card works for LH parks; second choice would be Derek Jeter
3B: PUNTED - I missed out on 3Bs for the third draft in a row. I debated Seager and Moustaskas too long.
LF: David Murphy - He did well for my last team but lacked the HR threat or glove.
CF: Curtis Granderson - I debated him or Angel Pagan. If I went Pagan, I'd play in SAFECO
RF: PUNTED - I missed out on my targets
DH: PUNTED - I took a sub $3M bat to complete the draft card

SPs and RPs - I targeted them and liked them until my division went LH'd

Post-waiver, I targeted an everyday RF (Jay Bruce?), a LHSP, and a DH platoon

Initially, I didn't consider Melky for my park but the number of LHSPs dictated a different course. In past NLDs, Melky generate solid results so grabbing him seemed okay. Of course, Melky's RHP "W" gives me pause for my division competition and my own park. Unfortunately, I had to drop Votto to roster Melky.

As for Gio, I couldn't believe he hit the free agent pool. It cost me Lohse which I knew Joe wanted on his roster.

Trading for Justin worked out for both Joe and myself.

On balance, my team will struggle as it's skewed towards beating Jeep's team. To date, I'm seeing 2/3 LHBs despite only three out of nine starts by a RHSP.

The season will be awfully long :o

Right because gbrookes is managing my team :P We've gone through 33 different managers and gbrookes is here to get the young players developed and the veterans to give us one more solid year.

He's doing a great job of it too. After suffering through 4 years of Chicago Cubs games, it's nice to start the season off right. Hope springs eternal

Of course, history tells me that the goat is due to show up around 81st game.

Please just call me Geoff, not gbrookes. "gbrookes" sounds too much like being at work!

You're absolutely correct, sir!
