I don't play the mystery card games but this raises a question. Do all 5 possible versions of a card in mystery games have the same fielding ratings? For example pretend ATG were a mystery game and I picked Dimaggio. The 39 card has arm while the 41 card has a -4. Would his arm rating depend on which year I got or do all 5 cards get the same fielding ratings. Also steal ratings. Seems like those 2 things would be easy giveaways on which year card you had if they were not the same.

I only played one mystery card game -- the 60s game, unsuccessfully. I don't know how they decided which ratings to use, but each card had a specific fielding and running/steal rating, no matter which version of the card you happened to get.

Just a guess, but it looks like the baserunning, steals, bunting and so forth is averaged from the five available seasons. At any rate, it's the same regardless of which season is in play.

in rf, i would take the arm, at least in real life, because of the longer throw to third from right

here, i would check my pitchers for SINGLE(of) vs. SINGLE* or SINGLE**.

if none of my rotation SPs has a SINGLE(rf) or flyball(rf)B?, i don't care about the arm there.

i still think there was a weighted chart in the card game that modified the splits on outfield throws based on what base was being thrown to and which of it was coming from

but maybe that was a stratfan chart and not from SOM, sorry, Yaz and Willie (Stargell) but Clemente and Dewey had more harder throws to 3rd than either of you

I don't think it is fair to not consider the offense of the players involved, the offense of the player with the lesser D might make up for it significantly more than the other player's O makes up for his lack of D.
