Don't know Moose-o-lini from Barnstormers, so there is no history of that sort for me.
However,
based on what has occurred recently, the Druid's description is exactly what we experienced.

The main battle in the Barnstormers is the "herding cats" aspect of it. With sometimes 12-13 LEAGUES at a time to deal with and over 130+ players with which to try to fit into a deadline, not to mention doing my best to have both early leagues and a "late" league, all in an effort to try to bend to the vacationers schedule, the goal is to set a deadline. You don't set a deadline, nothing happens.

Problems with that is, if I give 5 days, 120 hours - seems like a couple of people feel like they need 121 hours. And this was when I assigning people to leagues. So what would happen is that 11 of the people in the leagues get in within 2 days, and the rest of the players are waiting and waiting for the lone holdout. Many complained, how long do we have to wait for so and so ? And that was only magnified when so and so was a big name. When the deadline come and go and so and so had to be replaced with others, they felt "above" the rules and were "not happy".

The "bully" aspect come from needing to both set and enforce said deadlines. It surely seems that some would challenge the deadline, just to see what would happen. So, over the years, I am trying to spend less time on coddling people and more time on the setting and enforcing of the deadlines. If you miss the deadline, deal with it - you've missed that event.

Do we really feel that 5 days time to put your team together isnt long enough ? I can't remember any other single incidents with Druid/Nev that weren't centered around anything else other than - we are all waiting on you - put in your damned team !!!

Now we have a nice benefit that came about this year. Ability to randomize the league once everyone was in. This eliminates the game that some played to hold off on entering their team to avoid specific divisions. And I started creating half a dozen leagues at a time and not assigning people to specific leagues. Those that got in right away had their league filled rapidly. Those that went later joined up with others that took longer. This also appears to work well.

But at some point in time, a deadline has to be set - and I don't care who you are. If someone else wants to step up and run Barnstormers, have at it. I could use the break.

Oh and as far as the other recent issues - no I do not like off-topic posts in this forum or any other forum. Nor do I like profanities thinly veiled by dashes and underlines. There are rules for what should be posted here and if what is posted offends me, it will be reported. Find someplace else to talk politics.

Yes, because you are GOD.

I'm guessing if it was a push for curing breast cancer or perhaps a joke thread (remember those) Moose wouldnt be so quick to report it...He might even chuckle at some of the jokes and tell one of his own. But Moose is a worker bee and deep thinking hurts his head and thoughtful debate offends him and is a waste of his time.

I can't speak on what went on between him and Druid.

Where I was concerned it was I was on Vacation and it was the weekend...and it was many years ago (8) and internet access wasn't then, what it is now.... so this crap about "Over the years I'm trying to spend less time coddling and more time enforcing deadlines" I guess he started that 8 years ago with me...To his credit when I later pointed out his own posts about my situation as compared to how he subsequently handled others in similar situations, he did recognize how poorly he handle my situation, and apologized...Other things have happened between him and I through the years, and while I'll be first to give him credit on his willingness to work so hard for so little.. in my opinion he throws his weight around and minds other people's business far too much.

THERE IS SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS STATEMENT:

1. Stopping an ADULT, INTELLIGENT, NON-OFFENSIVE discussion just because you don't like it is more offensive to me than you having to not click on the thread.

2. You also stopped a BY-THE-RULES protest of your censorship- so lets not pretend that you are a by-the-rules guy, because you choose to only follow the rules when they suit you.

3. Did you even read the thread- there was no mention of politics.

4. ***T- that is not against the rules- so why does it matter what you personally care for?

Do you know what I do when I run across people talking bout something that I don't want to talk about???
Well, one thing for sure, I don't stop them from discussing based on what I want.

I know Bobby's tournament wasn't as big (and don't we miss him)... but I don't think anyone would mistake Moose for Bobby, who always found a much nicer way to communicate with everyone. One got respect the other one often didn't and that is a reflection on them not us.

We?
Someone mentioned jokes and I am reminded of one, courtesy of the fabulous Bill Holman:
The job interview was going great and winding down. The head of H R said, "Well, things look excellent for you and I have one final question. What do you consider your worst attribute?"
The interviewee responded quickly, "I am much too honest."
"Too honest?" I think that's a wonderful attribute", the interviewer replied.
To which the applicant yelled, "I don't give a flying f==k what you think!"

First, I find this joke pretty ***** funny. 8-)

Secondly- if one were to believe Moose-Logic then he would have reported this post based strictly on His "rules".

RIght- Now maybe you get it, that slope doesnt need any extry grease- someone is sliding all over it already.

I can appreciate that. My wife says the same thing. I lost my father about a year ago and in many ways he was a mean old cuss that when he was in his prime and I was trying to grow up with him, you didn't want to be around him. Herding cats isn't a fun exercise, I lose patience. But in defense of Nev, I have evolved to creating Early Leagues for those that want to get in NOW (before the published event date) - another date for the majority of the leagues, and a LATE league for those that cant get in during any of the other dates. All one has to do is find the league that best fits your schedule.

Guys, this isn't easy, - and if I'm not nice - Mighty Moose Senior may have put this in my blood. God rest him. :|

And I will make every possible effort to reread and engage brain before clicking "send".

But if you think you need more than 5 days to put together and enter your team, OR if you don't like facing a deadline, find another tournament.
