Fool me once, shame on you Rod.

Fool me 3X, well, shame on me.

All 3X, I get his worst card.

Anybody have any luck with him?

Well here he is on his 4th best card. Good, not great but still worth the money IMO.

This is the only 60s team I have used him so far.

I have had Rod close to 6 times. 3 good seasons 2 platoon seasons where he just could not get a hit vs a lefty and 1 cut before mid season. That was somewhat because Lumpe was available untried. I don't like having a 3 at second much and that has hurt some. So I haven't drafted him lately.

Howdy,

Tried Lumpe and Carew once each. both had their worst cards, ugh! Currently I'm platooning Wayne Causey (A minimum wage lefty who is a "3") and Tommy Helms. I'm getting my money's worth with them. Helms is doing well against lefties and is a "2", while Causey is at least doing better than his salary would seem to indicate.

Well I am beginning a 60's season starting this Monday. I drafted Rod Carew. I'll keep my figers crossed. For the 2.4 million salary its worth the gamble. Bargin in a way. I'll have to get a decent backup if he goes cold.
