Why didn't this record performance get noticed?

In my league Yasmani Grandal did something only 13 other had done- hit 4 home runs in a game.

In the Front Office games of the day these were the highlights:

Kris Medlen fires shutout in 5-0 Shoremen win
CC Sabathia (MAC) blanks Crabbers, 2-0
Inc. beat Symphony 5 8-1 behind Jason Hammel's 15 K's

Not to belittle those performances, but isn't a 4 homer game in a 23-1 blowout noteworthy? I can't always see all the highlights so am curious how HAL decides what performances to highlight.

Maybe HAL was on vacation last night. I had an interesting one as well.....in a 12-6 win MY Eric Davis hit 2 HRs and Jamie Quirk hit 3 HRs, yet the headline reads: Pete O'Brien homers twice in 12-6 loss to Yard 2

Go figure!!!!

HAL should have some 3+ homer logic for headlines.

The HRs in losses headlines are the worst.

"Moss homers twice in 16-2 loss"

I doubt the logic selects all possible headlines and then ranks them taking the top 3. More likely takes the first 3 identified.

HAL is definitely biased towards high salary players. No excuse for Ross Detwiler finishing behind Verlander in both All-Star voting and Cy Young voting ( 0 points).

Detwiler 20-6 3.23 ERA (3rd place) first in winning pct. for division winner.
Verlander 20-16 3.72 ERA for last place team.

Well, in that particular case (Verlander vs. Detwiler), Verlander pitched nearly 150 more innings which has tons of "value" as far as MVP and Cy Young. As far as starters go, you basically never see non-* pitches beating out * pitchers, and for a fairly good reason.

Those extra 150 innings produced 0 more wins and 10 more losses. So I will still insist there is a bias towards high price starters and closers in the CY Young voter.

Yes, difference in wins and losses but not that far apart in ERA. Relative ballparks could impact ERA. Run support or lack thereof could account for winning percentage. There is real life precedent for Cy Young going to a low winning percentage pitcher if he pitched for a team with very poor run support. See King Felix.
