My first season online I won 100 games. Faced an all hit - no pitch team in the first round. First 2 games at home I got shutout by two - 1.5 million dollar pitchers. Got swept in 4. Realized with a jolt this isn't my daddy's strat-o-matic where pitching is important. Been trying to fine tune my rosters since.
Just think how much fun it is on the other end. As the perpetual owner of 84 win teams, it sure does feel nice to occasionally break through and win that ring. Of course, 84 wins is all the fault of HAL's bad rolls, but the WS title is due to some clutch managing and brilliant roster creation.
I finally won my first championship. Pretty even league where I won 87 games and played the wild card who won 86 games and came from my division. I was 6-12 vs. him in the regular season and had a 3-0 lead in the finals and then won game 7. Surprised I won as the 6-12 wasn't a fluke, he outscored me pretty bad. My only hope was all the posts about underdogs winning in other leagues.
