Weak defense league

Starting a $100 mil ..DH ..league where no fielder other then a pitcher can be rated higher then a 2. We have 3 Mgrs interested already and want to know if we can get enough to try it..if interested just say so on this thread and I will start putting it together.

Geeze..all I wanted was to start a fun league with a small change...

Well, I played in the league not too long ago where your defensive total of your 8 defensive non-pitchers had to be 25 or higher. I am interested in something like that. You end up using players you've probably never used before.

I'm sure we can bat this around and come up with something fun.

Here is a rule for ya.
No CF can be better defensively than Gavvy Cravath.
Although he does have a -3 cannon!

I enjoyed that 8 player defensive total of 25 league. I would probably enter whatever is decided.

We finally decided to go with ..none of the 8 position players can have a ranking of higher then a 3...if a player can play multiple positions he can have a rating higher but cant play that position...example..A player who can catch and play first..His catcher rating may be a 1 and first base a 4..he can only play first base...No rules on any pitcher.Still $100M...DH

When HAL shuffles the D around at the end of a game, the 1 rated players will likely be moved to their better rated positions.
In your example, the 1 rated catcher will be catching every game when the 3 rated catcher is injured.
A manager can try to stay within the rules, and HAL won't let it happen

Jet40 set up a similar league that was a lot of fun and worked great.

These were the rules:
Your team cannot have a total range less than 25 for the 8 position players.
Your team can only play one 1 rated fielder.
Your teams middle infield (2nd and SS) range have to be at least 5. For example if you play a 1 at SS you would have to play a 4 at 2nd.

It worked great.
