I don't think its critically important for HAL to be able to draft a competitive team completely on his own. Seems like if you sign up for a live draft, you should ensure you show up to monitor it at least periodically. It is important to have a proxy system in place in case you're not around when your pick comes up. The SOM app is similar to TSN in that there is a only a sngle queue defined. What would be better is a system like Diamond Dope where you could define groups, e.g. SS, and then list players in order within the groups.
If you miss an unlimited salary draft, you're screwed. At lower caps, moderately less so, I'd say, due to salary limiting the pillaging of the talent pool before you get at your team.
Still, without a way to avoid a draft with 4 CFs and no catchers....
I am super jazzed about live drafting with salary caps! I am not too worried about what Hal is going to do, unless there are "ghost" computer teams, or very absentee owners. As long as there is some kind of proxy, and it looks like there is.. Will it be available for the Mystery Leagues...??? A do NOT draft button for certain players would be awesome. I do not need a bunch of sounds (bells and whistles)... I am just happy there will be live drafting at all..... Where do we send feedback, or is this it?... Thanks... Enjoy!! I'm excited.

I agree with you about automated drafting. SOM should focus on the application itself, not on selecting a team for someone who misses the entire draft.
