Been having a lot of success copying Nev and Petrosian's lefty teams. ;) Not unlike the super reliever, after being beaten enough by them, I don't have a problem joining in.

I think everyone should copy my teams instead of figuring things out for themselves...oh wait they already do that.

+302?

That's the magic number for either getting swept in the first round of the playoffs or for losing in some sort of interminably painful way. I can't remember which, likely because I've never been +302.

Good luck in the playoffs -- let us know how your team does!

I think I was "normalized" down the stretch. Things went very cold. A lot of home games were lost to righty teams, etc... I was on pace most of the year to win around 120.

Nev, I only tease you (and Petro) because for the past few months every league I'm in with either of you two I see this same formula being used. In "teasing you", I am actually giving you credit for the formula, and admitting to have lazily stolen it. However, my question is, who came up with it first, you or Petrosian? Both of you seem to enjoy using the same formula, someone had to come up with it first. At this point, is this just something you guys use to keep credits rolling in?

Nev, I replied in your PMs. Apparently I touched a nerve that was more sensitive than I expected, but rest assured I'm not out to sell your secrets or ruin your strategies. This is such an obvious team in a lefty park that it almost seems as common as a Dale Murray team in any league.

Just to set the record straight as to who started regularly using which players first. I'm limiting myself to the guys on PJ's posted team.

Mickey Harris was definitely Nev.

Can't say with Kaat because Nev joined ATG 1-2 years before I did. But he was a mainstay of many of my early atg teams before I had ever played in a league with Nev or seen one of his teams. We both used him a lot.

Sadecki was strictly me. I used him a ton and back in II and III when he wasn't that popular at all.

Not sure with Higbe. But if you look at the Joe the Jet ratings, Higbe should be priced around 5 million. So I have used him, and continue to use him all the time except in 200M leagues.

Griffey was my "find" I was drafting him in the early 3rd round in the live drafts on TSN when no one else was. That is a matter of record. But Nev and I both recognize his value. Don FESQ even questioned this (during an actual live draft) saying that Snider is better than Jr. I disagreed.

The 11 pitcher pitching staff was completely Nev. He figured out the bullpen stuff long before I did. It helps to read boxscores!

I did routinely use McMahon. But if this were a Nev copy team, Kenny Rogers would be on it.

Fox/Beckert was absolutely me, though if I had a good lead off guy I'd prefer Schodenienst.

Vaughan was pure Nev, at least I rarely have used the non-souped up card.

Nev and I both like McCovey and Mathews a great deal, particularly the '69 version of McCovey and the latest Mathews card (one with bad defense). I'm pretty sure I've used McCovey much more frequently than Nev in leagues where I draft this kind of team (200M cap) and that Nev also plays in. But since this kind of team is like Nev's default park, he has probably had him on more total teams than me.

Nev is on record stating that he prefers the cheaper Ichiro card. I'm pretty sure I only have used the more expensive card.

Templeton was all me.

We'll, good old don McMahon coughed up leads in games one and two to put me in a nice 0-2 hole to start the playoffs...
