That sums it up nicely leftfield. Definitely the outlook people should use. Hopefully I can get 40 years of combining the words strat-o-matic and realism out of my head. They are entrenched together fairly deep though :(

Yeah, but that doesn't make it any more fun to watch Bruce Sutter ruin your season by pitching 7 innings of shutdown relief in the first two games of the playoffs. Bah Freakin' Humbug if he comes in and kills me again tonight. :evil:

It is odd (read: wrong) that if my starter pitches one third of an inning and gets pulled, he's out for three (or four games). But if my (super) reliever pitches 5 innings, he's back the next night as long as it isn't his third day in a row.

I don't think they SOM should necessarily try to kill this strategy; however, there should be some kind of relief fatigue for long stints. The limit this reliever to 2-3 innings check box is a joke. Why bother?
