I think Freehan should be in. Before they lowered the mound it was hard to be excellent offensively. Frank White and Jack Morris not so much. Biggio and Frank Thomas should be in. Bill James loves Biggio.

Frank White No, Bernie Williams No. Bill Freehan, very close to being deserving. Five Gold Gloves, Eleven All-Star Games, probably the best AL catcher between Berra and Fisk.

Freehan had his best OPS+ rating (145) during the year of the pitcher, 1968. Surprisingly (at least to me), he finished 5th in 1974 in the AL for slugging percentage. I would have thought he would have been on the downside of his career at that point.

Had the Tigers been in more World Series, Freehan would have likely gotten more attention.
