Please critique my 60's squad

Howdy,

I'm still pretty new to the 60s league, being a 70s guy. Please critique my roster. I welcome all the informed insight I can get.http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/1121586

Killebrew is a 60s beast, and paired with Howard you have a killer combo. And Maris for lefty power? Makes me wish your team was in the 80s Kingdome. Smart to grab Wills and Kubek, as well as Helms: good fielding middle INFs who can actually hit are at a premium in the 60s. Interesting idea pairing Burgess and Carew with potential defensive replacements for late innings (Ryan and Helms). McLain and Cuellar are going to give up the HRs, but they could work out for you in Memorial... and I like Nolan there too. Overall, that is a pretty good lineup: good power, some guys who hit for avg, maybe in need of one more OBP guy, but overall good balance.

Monday is not worth the money IMO: there are just as good CFs for a lot less money. Sievers is very hit-or-miss, and you already have 3 sluggers in a non-HR happy park. I would strongly consider finding a less expensive (and better OBP) CF, and then see if you can find an upgrade on Sievers: you could always move Killebrew to 1B and look for 3B options as well. Be careful with Carew: I have not used him, but I have seen him dropped a lot, and Helms is not a bad fallback plan at all. If you are going to keep both Hall and Brewer, find someone who gets out lefties: there are not a lot of LOOGYs in the 60s. In any case, I have seen a lot of expensive relief pitchers getting dropped early, so don't get married to your closers if you can find cheaper alternatives and upgrade elsewhere.
