Guys, I hate the boards and I never check PMs anymore. But I read GB's posts that said a) he would announce playoff dates around end of Dec, and then b) we would start playoff stadium draft in early Jan. So when I was on vacation in the mountains over New Year's, skiing, I made a point to check in on Jan 2 even though my internet access was very spotty.

Bottom line: there has been PLENTY of communication around this and GB has been very clear in his instructions. You have to take ownership of missing the boat here and not blame others for your mistakes. I honestly think you should apologize to GB in this case - he has worked his butt off to get us to this point and deserves to be commended and appreciated, not blamed.

And to spicki17 and LongIsland4Ever, I really am sad that they missed out. I have turned this over in my head many times, and I think I made the right decisions for the tournament this year.

Also, I really do welcome suggestions for next year, to improve the tournament. I incorporated many of the suggestions from last year.

Why does the Mystery Card participants get this type of notification by qualifers for the Players Championship Semi Finals not get this? These notices are exactly what I was expecting when waiting to kick off the semi finals. I'm sorry, I do take some responsibility, and I do realize the almost all the semi finalists were checking the forums, but it makes no sense to me that the Mystery Card tournement gets these kind of notifications and the Players Championship does not.

LongIsland4Ever, I will take your comments under consideration for next year's tournament, in terms of communication.

I haven't asked visick yet whether he asked strat to put in those nice notices lately for the mystery tournament. In any case, I will chat with visick about that , and with strat-o-matic, for next year's tournament.

Yes, visick did contact SOM. It looked like the mystery tourney was going to be about 4 leagues of 48 owners. The banners were posted, so many were entering that the deadline for entering was extended, and suddenly we had 12 leagues of 120 owners. Just the immediate revenue for SOM (not to mention additional mystery players who now want to play in the future) has to show SOM that these banners are a great thing for these kinds of tournaments.

I don't know the details in your tourney, but it is time consuming and extremely frustrating when owners do not read the rules or communicate to anyone when they are going to be gone. It takes one minute per league or tourney to send a quick message of "out until ___________".
