HAL craziness or am I missing something?

My defensive subs = Scott LF/Anderson 3B/Snyder RF. HAL puts in Martinez @ C/moves Fisk to 1B/Clark to LF and puts Anderson @ 3B. Scott still on the bench and Fisk and Clark are not checked to be removed at all.

In our 80s league, HAL started Britt Burns twice in one series.

In my 70s league, HAL tossed Richie Hebner behind the dish for an injured Manny Sanguillen for 4 games despite having a healthy Casanova on the bench.

On several other teams, HALs made sub decisions that would cause Casey Stengel to spit all over himself.
