I've emailed lumberco at both his personal and family email accounts, and still we blew the Friday night deadline.
If we don't hear from him this weekend, shall we seek a replacement on Monday?
He's been an active participant in many of the leagues where I'm commish and, God knows, life certainly has a way of getting in the way of our Strat games. Even so, it's not fair for one manager to drag down the efforts of 11 others.
I guess maybe we should since it's been nearly 2 weeks since we finished the draft and Lumberco didn't even make his own pick in the 1st round, he left it as a proxy. I just hope that health issues has gotten in the way. So, my vote is yes to search for a new manager.
Lumberco plays in a lot of leagues and has been a manager in good standing since this league formed (based on what I see in the league history).
While, we can't let a manager hold the league hostage, I think a combined approach is fairest for a manager with Lumberco's established track record. I believe that our deadline to start the Winter league is theoretically fluid. I don't think we are up against any specific event or situation around the end of March that forces us to start by such and so date. Forgive me if this is a poor assumption.
So, maybe we pick a drop dead date of Wednesday, Jan 29th. If we haven't made contact with Lumberco by then, he's dropped. In the meantime, we advertise for a replacement with this stipulation. We can provide the known roster and indicate that the replacement will need to submit by Friday, 1/31, if Lumberco hasn't responded by 1/29.
