Happy New Year to all. Kanazawa Castle awaits the upcoming Season with great hope, probably misplaced. When do we start getting serious?

Tough call for our squad this year, not sure if we have a real contender or not. We will definitely need some starting pitching and we have some 3B, OF & Cs to deal.

3B: with Carpenter moving there this season, we'll start playing him there and will look to move Sandoval and/or Chavez.

OFs: our current starters are Heyward in RF, Gentry/Crisp in CF, and Hamilton/someone in LF. This leaves several interesting cards as bait including Gardner in CF, Schierholtz's power card in RF, and Gutierrez and Eaton also in CF for future plays.

C: Our likely starter will be Wellington Castillo, which means Russ Martin and his great D and power card vs RH will be available. We could keep him as a backup/D-sub but his power vs RHB should be a fit for someone in a hitter or RH-friendly park.

Our top needs are SPs, 1B/DH, and RPs. Holler if you see a fit.

Thx,
Dave/Qk

Well, the 2012 seasons are officially in the books, and what better way to get over a tough finals loss than to look immediately to the future.

We will have cuts and draft in Feb/March after the game is released online. We cut down to a roster of 25 and have a 15 round draft according to the rules. The best characteristic of this league (IMO)is the wealth of talent available because we don't carry prospects. This year seems to be especially rich, but I probably think that every year. The first 2013 season we play will not be until April or May.

I feel pretty good about what I have returning. I am loaded at 1B with Hosmer, Craig, Moss, Smoak, and A. Gonzalez - so I could move one or more of them. I am a little thin elsewhere around the IF, though J. Mercer could be a nice surprise.

The OF looks really good with Trout, A.Jones, and Werth.

The pen looks ok for starters with Uehara, Clippard, and Furbush, but the SPs look a little thin as well.

Still, it's gonna be tough to repeat a 113 win season.

And congrats again Hawk!

Hey Gentlemen - I would be remiss if I didn't once again congratulate Nythawk for his championship season(s). Yes, he won both seasons this year. Awesome!!!

And for that, he not only got 4 free credits, but the last pick in the FA draft.

Here it is (determined by cumulative record of 2013 seasons):

1. Cubit 126-198
2. Jack 127-197
3. MGrammes 134-190
4. BlueIguana 158-166 Higher pick by virtue of being in lower division
5. Palmtana 158-166
6. MFL536 168-156
7. TimK 169-155
8. Ninersphan 170-154
9. Champ87 172-152
10. Qksilver 174-150
11. Smitty 198-126
12. Nythawk 190-134 Last pick by virtue of being the season 2 champion

By the way, I did update the rosters and SS and will send that out shortly.

Thanks for a great season guys and for sticking with it!

Brian

Ratings book says he IS a 2e10, a W for bp hr's vs RHP ( though he has 1.5 pt's of HR on that side, and only .6 on the other side). Looks like a nice NO. 2 hitter very low gbA's, good hit numbers, and very good OB numbers
