Last year I bought the spreadsheet, this year I got the hard copy rating book and must admit I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED! The font is ridiculously small. Even with my reading glasses I have a hard time processing the information. Does SOM understand the average age of their customer base? I would gladly return the book for a spreadsheet, it is almost useless to me.

Looking at it, It is absurd they did not put pitchers and batters for each team on a separate page. I can't f-ing read it.

I learned the game in the early 70s as a pre-teen. Within a couple of years after I discovered that the game was online, I learned of the ratings book. Except, as an older guy who likes spreadsheets, and who makes time for strat at odd times of the day (or night), I bypassed the book, and just got the spreadsheet. It's awesome. I can copy and paste players into my roster listings, calculate my own run production estimates, sort player data using excel. In the age of spreadsheets, the strat ratings "download" is like Christmas in mid-January.

Btw, I use excel. What I do (after I buy it and download it) is copy and paste the spreadsheet data into a brand new excel spreadsheet, so that I get all of the functionality and tools of the excel program.

Another btw - I have access to both PC and Mac. I like Mac, but I don't like the spreadsheets on Mac. Prefer excel on my PC for this.
