One other point of clarification - if the cheapest version of the player is not owned, ownership goes to the franchise with the next lowest value. For example, Eckersley's cheapest card is with the Red Sox, an unowned franchise. The As may place him on their initial draft card.

For a future league, some modifications could be made to create 4 more franchises - i.e. Yankee pre and Yankee post, NYG on their own and SF combined with one other smaller franchise, allocating a few cheap players to the Negro League set, etc. However, giving 12 managers the choice from 20 franchises avoids the board draft - otherwise, those last few teams can be tough to fill. That said, you're welcome to steal the idea and try it!

Do I assume the filter is ATGVII and then put in team as filter? Or is there some other set?

I'm a little slow, so forgive me.

Clemens has 2 BOS, 1 TOR and 1 Hou cards. Since Bos and Hou are not owned, I can take the TOR card. Correct?
