George Costanza or Mickey Mantle. He wanted to name his kid "7"!

Did I win?

267. Musial6 - Ron Taylor 1970

After exhaustive research, I hope he's still out there - the search engine gave a big "WTF-I don't know" on him.

My spreadsheet shows him as still available.

Given that this is the eighth league that we've had a draft with, I'm a bit surprised that we haven't come up with some method of sharing a spreadsheet. I have to imagine that there's been a duplication of effort in this regard. If we were able to do this, then we wouldn't have to rely on the Search Engine that is overwhelmed with the Smiths and the Johnsons.

One option would be a shared Google Doc spreadsheet. We could each update the spreadsheet as we make our picks. Or we could have a designated owner do it periodically. I would volunteer for that.

This is the ranking of the qualified National League leaders for the Power-Speed number during the 1971 season. When you look at this group of players, you can see players with a combination of both power and speed. That's why I was caught by surprise when I learned that my most recent selection, Bob Bailey, ranked number 7 that season. He had 13 SBs that season, the most he ever had in one season. His Power-Speed number that season was 13.5; it was 8.5 for the 1970 season, and 8.7 for the 1972 season.

I never thought of Bailey as being a speedster; that's why I was so surprised by this ranking.

Two Technicalities.

Ken recently drafted Roy Smalley Jr. Actually the player from the 1970's and 1980's is Roy Smalley III. His father, Roy Smalley Jr. played in the majors from 1948 - 1958. His grandfather was Roy Smalley Sr. He never played in the bigs.

When we still had the beloved 1969 season, SOM referred to it as Shibe Park. Shibe Park was built in 1909 and used until 1970, then Phillies moved to Veterans Stadium. But in 1954 or 1955 the name of the place was changed to Connie Mack Stadium. So technically that's the name SOM should have been using with the 1969 game.

I can't match Ken for trivia, but I thought I should contribute something.
