*Little personal trivia - I went to Milwaukee County Stadium as a 6-year old. The first major league Homerun I ever saw in real life was Mike Hegan. One of the 11 HRs he hit over 43 years ago was witnessed by a very small version of me!
Tommy Harper was my favorite player of that time, but will not forget Hegan's drive.

My first ML homer was, interestingly, an inside the park job by Dick Allen at Met Stadium in July 1972, off HOFer Bert "Be Home" Blyleven, who was struggling after his great rookie season in '71. It gave the Sox a 3-0 lead after three hitters and they never looked back, winning 8-1. I was 8 and a friends Dad took us to the game. We waited to watch Killebrew hit in the 9th and he hit a towering pop fly to SS. Then my friend's Dad said "let's go"!

I found the box score on baseball reference. July 31, 1972. It definitely helped me remember some detail. But it says nothing about Dick Allen smoking cigs in the dugout. I remember that.
