Where Does Hal Bat Backups In The Lineup?

I cant remember or find it on the message board.

If a starter is out with an injury, where does Hal put his backup in the line up?

Does it matter if you have a backup listed on the depth chart?

To make the question easier, I have it listed both ways, if that matters:

If you HAVE a back up on the depth chart...where does Hal bat him?

If you DON'T HAVE a back up on the depth chart....where does Hal bat him?

He bats the back-up in the same spot in the lineup as the injured started in either scenario.

Ducky is correct. I would add that, if you do not have a backup listed, HAL is most likely (but not always) going to pick the player off your bench who plays that position best defensively, both during the game of the injury and in future games. And if your most likely backup for a position listed as your starting DH, HAL is not going to move him to the field during a game, even if he is the only other player eligible to play that position on your roster.
