His numbers:
PAs - 210(296)
ABs - 202(265)
Runds - 30 (48)
Hits - 60(77)
2B - 8(18)
HRs - 16(21)
RBIs -52(52)
BA - .297(.291)
OBA - .314(.358)
SLG - .574(.596

Brandon Moss numbers are in parentheses and Garcia's numbers don't look to crazy to me. But Strat is CRAZY on who they say is Leashed or Unleashed.

One of the categories you left out in your comparison was games played, in which Moss played 84 (more than half)in 2012 while Garcia only played 51 in 2002, which might have played a part in Strat's reasoning--both in excluding Garcia and including Moss. So, while I'm not saying Garcia didn't necessarily merit inclusion (based on Strat's own usual standards), I would say that 2012 Moss has a substantially stronger case for inclusion in his set than 2002 Garcia did in his. As to the method in Strat's madness in deciding who is Leashed or Unleashed, I would say they have done a fairly decent job but could perhaps be more consistent in following their own establishing rules--or actually establishing those rules--deciding which player is what.

It simply doesn't make sense.

Of course it does. No team plays 162 consecutive games without days off either. Also you have to consider that SOM uses the same rules as to how often a SP can pitch to cover all of its games. For ATG the stud pitchers of 100 years ago pitched more often than every 4th game. Cy Young can never have a 400+ IP season like he actually did 5 times in his career. SOM has to strike a balance and I think they do it pretty well with the *SP and SP.

Speaking of Cy Young......How can he have 15 consecutive seasons of between 320-453 IP and at least 31 complete games each season and today's SP can only go about every 6th day and even then can only go about 6 IP? Even as recently as the 70s SP used to pitch much more than they do today.

The 162 consecutive days is unique to the online game only, yet the asterisk starter is a board game convention which should have been removed years ago if you are looking for "realism".

Sorry, I stand by my, "it doesn't make sense" statement but I'll expand it to say:

In a game that allows for pitching on 3 days rest, 200 inning RP's, platooning of guys who were never even pinch hit for in real life, I don't see why it's so problematic for a guy with limited at bats to lead a statistical category, in what is basically a fantasy simulation game.

We agree to differ on this topic. I also support the unleashed players not being part of the standard online game.

The usual indicators are usually less than 150 ABs and priced above 7M. Less than 100 AB and above 5 million OR slanted 7L or worse players with less than 100 ABs and more than 2.5 million. Baerga, De Aza and Garcia are the only ones to break this mold in 13 years that I know of. That is not a bad. And IMHO Baerga was the only one that was unusual and was not the right hdecision. He had a precedent. Garcia and De Aza ... what have they ever done? Below 50 AB players should be excluded. Below 5 starts should be excluded. Those guys are anomalies. Although, I do think their reasoning with some of the platoon-able players has been wonky. But, no one is clamoring for those cards anyway.
