Well, it seems that you *really* don't want to do a forum draft. I guess we should start talking about a date to do this and what the parameters will be. Do you really think it will be easy?

I think it's going to be hard to find a date/time, but let's try.

I can't do it this weekend. Next weekend could work however.

Saturdays starting around 3:00 ET could work for me. Or very early Saturday morning. It might work at other times on Saturdays but I'd need clear it with the big boss at home, to confirm that she'd taking my daughter to her Saturday bowling event. I could also potentially do evenings on Monday through Wednesday, and maybe Thursday. Have to confirm the specific dates (Monday March 3 doesn't work for me. My son's hockey team in their playoffs, and their game schedule depends on what games they win- double knockout format- so I need to check on each date. But Saturday and Monday through Wednesday are good days generally).

Things to consider

Do we have 12 owners confirmed for this season?

If so, what is the draft order?

If we've 12 owners and a draft order, we COULD launch Round 1 on the board to stimulate the competitive spirit :D

I think the bit that you are forgetting Joe is that the actual draft will be over in approx 90 minutes. I know we all have busy lives, but I'll be shocked if we can't find 90 minutes to spend online at the same time. As I said, I have been doing this sort of thing for years in my fantasy baseball and football leagues.

So let's get started. 8 hours separate Joe and me. Everyone else is in between. It will have to be a Saturday or Sunday, and off the top of my head a couple of times might make sense:

12noon EST (9am for Joe, 5pm for me)
3pm EST (noon for Joe, 8pm for me)

Any earlier would be tough for Joe, and any later becomes an issue for me. I also reserve the gap between 5 - 8pm my time for family / food time.

If we can agree one of those times in principle, then we can work on the actual date. Remember, this is only a 90 minute commitment.

Cheers,
big

I've organized a live draft for 2nite at 9pm EST. Have 7 Owners loaded so far need 5. This would get your feet wet and see how it works if some of you would like and are able to do this tonight.

It's PW-protected. Name of lg is Jeep's Live Draft lg and the PW is "alittledrafty."

I'm surprised Joe is the only one not totally up for this kind of draft. Normally I would have no problems with it but for the first season with the new cards? Really? I guarantee all of us at some point will have a guy we wanted drafted right before our turn is up. Is anybody familiar enough with the cards yet to change strategy and select players on the change in 45-90 secs.? I can hear the griping already. Maybe down the line it'll be easier when we have a better grasp on the cards, but taking on this challenge now seems a little silly to me. We might as well do an autodraft because I bet their would be the same amount of complaints post draft.

These are good points, Corky. The thing that's ironic about it is that our "NLD" league could learn about the new live draft feature. There's bound to be a few groans as we try to make it work. I think I saw that there is one option that is a couple of minutes per pick. The longer time might help us with the new cards.

I'd prefer 3 PM Est on a Saturday. That would probably work better for me. I can probably make the other time work, though, as well.

Did a live draft tonight. I think 2 minutes between picks would work fine. We did 1 minute which worked but no reason not to give us the extra time.
