Is This The Year?

Can this be the season I finally get to take part of that elite group that plays for the championship?
Made my return to the game after being away from this online version for 8 years and met some really great awesome people last season but that elusive championship tour still remains. Did probably get as close as I ever been last season, even won a title in the 2nd leg over one of the games best in knerrpool so maybe I am getting closer.
With spring training started I am now getting geared up to start playing again. Actually started to draft a team last night but only got a whole two players on the draft list. I think the fact it is below zero temp wise outside is keeping me from having the baseball mojo going.
Looking forward to another season and win or lose you can expect my Psychedelic Amish to be out there win or lose and maybe, just maybe actually somehow get into that elusive championship!!!

It's great to hear your enthusiasm! It's always exciting when the new cards come out!

From reading posts of many gets over the past few years, it sounds like they each have discovered some particular strategies that work well fairly consistently for them. jpav's posts on the secret formula are a great example. With a couple of dozen great threads like that , it's almost like there's a great strategy book for strat-o-matic scattered through these threads. Palmtana and others have done a really nice job gathering up the links to these great threads. Look for palmtana's thread on the strategy board.

But I think each player has to find their own particular strategies that work well for them. So keep plugging away, and keep building on your own successes.

If you are want to win a tournament that has five events and over 100 players you need to be good but you also need a bit of the SOM luck! With that said, Good Luck!

Thanks guys!!! I hear you about reading the posts and there is a lot of useful info to be had here. I also got a lot of excellent help from some wiley vets such as the mentioned J-Pav. I do not buy any ratings book or extra help so my early teams tend to get knocked around until I learn what cards are working and bargains etc. Then once I learn that I will still get knocked around but my season ending run differential will be better . Gonna be a good season I can just tell and if not, well being the bridesmaid and never the bride cant be all that terrible right???
