I thought rosters were to be cut down to 25 for this league...

Some things moving forward guys that have been brought up in other posts:

Roster size is 35 active players and 5 prospects. We will be required to cut down to at least 25 players and no more than 20 prior to the FA draft next year.

Any active players on our rosters that receive a card in the AL from SOM in the 2013 set will automatically be cut.

Any prospects that receive a card from SOM in the NL set must either be put on the active roster or released to FA prior to the FA draft.

To make sure I am not misunderstanding...Should that be "at least 25 and no less than 20?"

I wanted to institute a 30 man roster (like we have in the AL keeper) in lieu of the 35 originally set forth. That way we can cut to 15 if we want. I wasn't original commish for this one so open to whatever we want to do.

Open to whatever you guys would like to do Cal...if we'd like to vote then we can do that. I need to find Fred's replacement yet so anything else we'd like to vote on that I can share with incoming owner would be great

What I am saying is that we have always been at 25... we would have to vote to change it to 20. Unless we had a vote already and I missed it.

Of course, if half your roster is traded to the AL in 2013, that would make it hard to meet the minimum of 20, so that is what's making me think I misunderstood something.

Michael had originally set forth a 35 man roster limit plus 5 round prospect draft (we've since changed that to 2 rounds each year) so I was going off of that. I don't think the roster size is going to matter as much as available players to draft will. There are 472 eligible hitters and pitchers in the NL online set this year. If each owner gets roster to 35 that's 420 of those players taken of which 93 (approximately 20%) of those players carry a $500,000 salary and 180 players (38%) under 1 million

I think transitioning at some point to 30 man rosters is the way to go or even just SOM roster requirements if an owner chooses to keep less than 30...just my opinion, but this isn't a dictatorship, I just keep track of stuff for us and make sure we adhere to the rules that were set forth. We can do whatever we want!

Tim, I believe you will have to cut Alex Presley, Kurt Suzuki, RA Dickey and Mark Buehrle due to them having AL cards, unless I misunderstand something from the roster rules.

All cuts were made prior to sending out spreadsheet before online set was released. Prospects will be promoted automatically if they received a card in online game. Cuts will then be necessary for those over 20 down to at least 20 but no less than 15

Just trying to make sure we are on the same page and that I don't need to figure out 5 more drops.
