Have we decided anything or we still waiting for everyone to signup. Even the sign up process is laborious.

Remember the days when everyone was chompping at the bit to get started?

We haven't decided anything yet really. Obviously I'm here, even though I haven't said 'IN' formally. But that's because I'll bow out if the majority wants a Board draft.

I don't have the time to beg people to read the thread, or to convince people that a quick draft is our best option. I've tried several times to a) allay fears about the quick draft process and b) move to find a time and date for said quick draft. I'm pretty sure 2 people commented on my suggested time options, so either people aren't reading the thread or they don't care or they're dead set against the quick draft.

It doesn't bode well.

Agreed.

What can you do? It's gets very old trying to get our Owners to check in every time we start a new league. I'd like to get rid of the people who are always guilty of this and get some new blood in here that'll get things done. We have ALWAYS started a new league immediately after the current one gets finished, and we always start up our first new league of the season when the new cards roll out.

We keep saying I'll ping him again, I've sent him e-mails, etc., etc. Don't mean to offend anyone, but it's true.

Well I hope I'm not one of the guys being referred to in the above post as I am as active or more so than anyone here besides maybe Joe. The reason I haven't officially announced "in" yet is because of the slight chance gbrookes gets a quick response from SOM this week about the 3 hour clock feature. Besides my dislike of a quick draft for the first round with the new cards, I'm not even sure i'll be able to make the few times/days that were mentioned.

I have responded to Bigmahons post rather thoroughly IMO but didn't really get much dialogue back from anyone besides Joe. This isn't a normal start to a season because of the draft issues, so while I would normally agree with Jeeps sentiment I could understand the pause some are showing this go around.

Corky, no you are very active and your views are always thoughtful and welcome.

I find it very hard to build consensus though when others don't participate. I like everyone in this league, and respect all for their competitiveness between these virtual lines. But with the exception of yourself, Joe, jeep, and gbrookes we are not getting much love.

Re the 2 - 3 hour turn times- I have received an answer already, and I posted it - no promises but possibly late march or eay April. I was vague because I didn't want to be undermining their communication process or making promises on their behalf. But the reality is that there isn't any promise - just a statement that it IS a priority for them.

I'd say that that's the most likely best solution, given the difficulty in lining up a time, and given corky's concerns. Even if it's mid-April, it's the solution that we're waiting for.

I'm all for a quick draft, and maybe corky's concerns are alleviated if we wait a few weeks, but then we might as well wait for the longer turns anyway, I think.

Nevertheless, let's address the check-in separately. We can all check in for the next live draft. If some folks aren't keen, and aren't checking in, after we try to reach them a few ways, maybe we should recruit some keeners. Don't mean to be mean spirited, just fatalistic. If we can't get a hold of some folks.
