Doesn't work that way, You'll now get a supplemental pick at the end of the draft. Not a 9th rounder.

Because your cuts took you to the 8th round, not the ninth. You only get picks for your cuts. Now that you opened a slot post cuts, it becomes a supplemental draft pick simply because the rules state all rosters must be at 40 at the end of the draft.

Thank of it this way, if you made a similar deal during the season, that opened a a spot on your 40 man roster, you don't get to make a free agent pick up to fill the slot. ( you can promote a prospect but that's different). So it's the same thing. If we didn't have a rule that says all rosters must be at 40, youd play season 1 with 39 or make a prospect promotion.

It's the same reason schnoogens has 3 supplemental picks but no picks in rounds 8-13

Also, I'd let you rescind the deal because you aren't getting what you thought you were getting, but I can't because rosco made the pick.
