Middle Man and Late Innings Guy

Good March to everyone, Started a couple of teams while waiting for April 1st. So my question is: Can your Middle Man and your late innings guy be the same pitcher or is HAL too confused. Although I have been doing it for a couple of years and it seems to work well, is my bias overlooking a downside?? Thanks Steve

However, I have wondered based on viewing some of my boxscores if the Middle Man setting causes my starters to leave the game early.
