Please note that I am not pressuring TomSiebert to make his ballpark pick (he had said that he was going to be busy at work through Tuesday night), and I want to be patient with everyone. Same goes for Stoney18 (travelling) and Spider 67 (recuperating), or anyone else really. These are the finals, and I don't want to rush anyone. I will only resort to timed picks if there are massive delays, and not in round 1 of the player draft anyway.
I've bumped the following up into this thread:
"I have some practical suggestions for the finalists, from my own experience with live drafts -
Set up a team on strat, as though you were going to auto-draft. Develop your plans and strategies for that teams as you would normally. Consider what ballparks are available to you (no repeats from events 1-5 or the semifinals), and which ballparks will be your top choices for this team. Remember that the first round of the live draft is for ballparks only, and that there are no duplicate ballparks among the 12 finalists, either. So develop a series of back-up, alternate choices for ballparks for your finals team.
Then, ask yourself which of your drafted players are most important to you and your team. Consider making those players your 4 picks in this limited player draft. Ask yourself who your alternate player picks would be, if you can't get each or any of those top 4 picks. This is how I would do my draft (if I was in it - just kidding about the crying symbol - I'm still enjoying this thoroughly, even though my team is now eliminated! ).
Or, as an alternative strategy for player picks, make a list of your top 48 choices for player picks, in order. If one of those players is picked by someone else, drafting ahead of you, then just strike them off your list. I prefer the team plan approach described above, but the perspective described in this paragraph would also help you to identify sleeper picks that no-one is making!
Hope this helps!"
