Is there a draft for free agents? Sorry, new to franchise:)

page 1 - "3 free agents allowed to be drafted from teams that are not chosen as part of the league. This will help you fill any weak spots in your franchise but you must remain at or below $70 million. So list those free agents first on your draft list because the players carded to your franchise are exclusively yours all season even if not drafted by you."

Put your 3 free agents 1, 2 and 3 on your card, along with 22 players from your selected team. You'll then be able to keep those 3 (if you get them) or select any other 3 after the draft and can also mix and match the players from your selected team.

Guys, I am considering backing out. Problem is that even if I cut down the Sox to 1 player per position, 2 catchers, and 10 pitchers, I can't get close to under $70. So even if I could draft 3 players via free agency at .5 million a piece, I would be over by $15 million. I'd have to drop multiple Red Sox players like Buchholz, Pedroia, Ortiz, etc.. and then I'd need to draft 6-10 players to replace them, which I can't do as the limit is 3 players. I'll see if I can get creative enough with it by tonight and let you all know. Thanks, Peter

You can definitely make a Sox team. Many under 1m players, no DH. If you dont want to just let us know so we can move on. The delay in closing is getting a little boring.

current Red Sox team in Franchise League 1 record is 13-14 with $560,000 in the bank....I dont think Ortiz was ever considered in a non DH league
