I don't think he phrased that very well, I think what he meant was that there are 2 or 3 top teams and 1 or 2 bottom feeders in this league, and that the disparity between the top and bottom will be much greater in this league than in NAKL where everyone will be bunched closer together.
I'll toot my own horn here, I think I have one of the top teams in this league, Tulo, Choo, Carpenter, Hosmer, Longoria, and Gomes give me a very good offense and Harvey, Fernandez, Cueto, Cingrani & Weaver give me one of the top Rotations. I'm not crazy about my home park and would love to be in a less homer friendly environment, but I still like my chances.

You'll need every bit of that pitching staff of yours, because none of those hitters, except for Longoria would be nothing more than subs on my team, if they would even make my team at all :D :D

I'll take Tulo over any of your SS's, Choo over any LF, and Carpenter over any 2b( though he's DHing for me), so not sure what you are seeing :o

I think you are correct about this being a 2 or 3 top team league this season. Isn't this more of a norm for Keeper leagues? To me, these leagues seem cyclical. For example, in the 4 seasons so far, Jerlins won 74 games, 77 games, 70 games, and then 95 games. This season, Jerlins could win 100 games. Meanwhile, my team won 97, 90, 87, and 72. Me, Lakeview, and Cubit dominated seasons 1 and 2 but are sub .500 teams 1 year later. It's our jobs to rebuild our franchises. Meanwhile, GMs like you and Jerlins are now going to benefit from some shrewd wheeling/dealing and drafting over the last couple years. This is why we play in these keeper leagues.

kev,

Totally agree about the cyclical nature, I had a similar experience to you in USKL was on top the first few years and am now doing a slow rebuild and likely won't be competitive until next year at the absolute earliest and that's only if I parlay some pieces this year. And yes It's the main reason I only play keepers I love the challenge of trying to build and maintain a competitive team over the long haul, to try and build a dynasty if possible, not easy to do and my record will attest to that.

Well, since Bill wouldn't trade Choo for any of my LF's which are Trout, Marte, and Puig, would anyone else care to make an offer :D :D

Trout is a CF, Puig is a RF and Marte would be great if he's facing 80% LHP ;)

That's why I'd take Choo you're comparing apples and oranges

Puig has the same D rating as Choo in LF, so why do you consider him RF only? He IS my LF in this league. And you wouldn't dare play Carpenter at 2nd.

Cause Puig's rating in RF is better then LF he's a 2 in RF and his price reflects that. But sure I'd play him there too if I had your team. ( Actaully I'd have tried to trade for Car-Go, but that's a whole different story)

And I most certainly would play Carpenter at 2b if I had too. His offense is so for above the rest of the 2b not named Cano, Zobrist or Pedroia, that he more than makes up for any defensive woes. He's also arguably the 2nd best offensive 3b in the set, but I have the other half of that argument in Longoria.

Look I'm not saying you don't have a great team, but saying most the guys I listed would "ride the bench" on your squad is overstating things just a tad bit. I can easily do the same with a couple of the positions on your squad too. :)
