What is with Eck? He faces four hitters, strikes out one hitter, gives up 2 singles and one walk, and goes from a '9' fatigue rating to a '0'??? And this has happened numerous times this season! His ERA is over 7. Yet when I faced him in the playoffs in a different league, he took on my lefty leaning team and shut them down for 3 innings, his fatigue rating staying at '9' and entire time. I have his pitching setting at 'slow hook' and nothing else but a closer. What am I missing.

Since we are not using the closer rules, and is relief fatigue rating is 1, as soon as he allows 3 baserunners via hit or walk he becomes tired and F0. Also because his fatigue rating is 1, he automatically becomes fatigued as soon has he has completed 3 innings (fatigue rating +2).

It's all in the game rules.

No, that's the inning they are susceptible to fatigue in. So an R3 can become fatigued in his 3rd inning. An S6 can become fatigued in the 6th inning, etc.

I usually avoid the R1 guys unless I'm using them as a cheap specialist. And a lot of the R2 guys, although there are exceptions.
