Can somebody explain how the randomizer will work. I know I will request one in a Forum, but once we get the series of numbers - need help.

For example, if the first few numbers are 8, 2, 7....

Does that mean that the 8th team on the sign-up list has the 1st pick, or does it mean that the 1st team in the sign up list has the 8th pick?

Thanks,

I think it's your latter choice - the first signed up has the 8th pick, but I'm not for certain.

I have questions regarding the franchise affiliations.
The original 16 franchises have moved around a bit and changed names, but I guess everyone's somewhat familiar with that.

The confusing one is Washington - who goes with the old Washington DB, PRE and POST sets - TEX EXP or MIN EXP?

And one other is the Browns/Orioles - are they combined for one franchise choice? I would assume so.

And four others have changed cities but retained names - Braves, Dodgers, Giants and Athletics - so I assume they stay intact.

So that leaves the other stand alone 14 expansion teams - except for who's the expansion and who follows Washington between the TEX Rangers and the MIN Twins? I think if you follow the bouncing ball the Twins were the old Senators - they moved from Washington to Minnesota. Then the expansion Senators eventually moved from Washington to Texas, so maybe that's the answer? The Twins go with the old Washington sets and the Texas Rangers are a stand-alone expansion franchise?

i think the randomizer is 1-12 and if it comes out 12 ,2 ,5 .... than the number 12 team would pick first , the # 2 team in would pick second, the #5 team would pick third and so on

We will go with the latter choice - if the first few numbers of the randomizer series are for example, 8, 3, 2...then the 1st sign-up has the 8th pick, etc.

Regarding your franchise questions, I think it's important to clarify these before we start, I'd like to offer the following:

1. The teams that have changed cities but retained names would stay intact. So a NY Giant is a San Francisco Giant, etc.
2. I prefer to leave Washington as a separate franchise in an of itself. So whoever takes Washington gets all four (db, pre, post, exp).
3. Similarly, Texas and MInn stand by themselves.
4. The Browns and Orioles would be combined.

If that goes against the grain of anyone, I'm open to proposed solutions, but it will need to be resolved before we start choosing.

Just wanted to remind you though that the Washington EXP set only includes like 4 players - so who ever would select them really only gets to choose from 3 eras.

Who are the other EXP teams that are really short-changed? AZ, FLA, COL, TB come to mind. Any others?

So this will be interesting! Maybe you wouldn't want to be first pick. Somewhere near the middle or even the end would be better? Hard to say no to having the chance to pick the Yankees though as your starter franchise.
