Barnstormers 2013 Finals

PostSat Mar 22, 2014 10:40 am

Wackiness over in the Barnstormers 2013 finals - the four that made the playoffs were the ones that finished 1-4 in the final point standings. What are the odds of that ?

Follow the action here as BruceF, OuttaLeftfield, rburgh, and springer0432 battle it out to be the champ.

rburgh ZOMBIES  crawls out of the ground and scratches out a quick 2-0 lead in the semi's.

This is bad. We are at our best when we seem to be dead.

Hey, I thought we were just in spring training form. Are you telling me that those games counted? :D

rburgh swept the #2 seed outtaleftfield last night to advance to the finals. Springer's cheap pitchers swept my two Aces last night to go up 3-1.

Obviously, OLF had much the worst of the luck in our series. The biggest factor was almost surely that, with 9 LHB in his lineup in Penmar Park, he had 12 consecutive rolls on Pedro's card. Oddly, one of those was an X-chart single, his only hit of the game.

Outtaleftfield had a great team, but the was doomed by the crapshoot randomness of the playoffs.

After being down 3-1, my Tomsk team came back and won the next two games. Springer and myself play each other tonight, with Ed Walsh going against Nolan Ryan. The winner will play against burgh for the championship.

I have to admit that I'll be rooting for the Stephanos this evening since they represent our West Division.

After all they did squeak by my Fort Lee Morgan squad for first place by a mere 21 games.
